Core Initiative
Women's Empowerment
Skills, confidence, and pathways to earning — so women can build independence with dignity.
Programme Overview
Women's Empowerment
Women's empowerment sits at the centre of Mera Parivar's mission. Programs combine vocational skills (including sewing), personal development, and livelihood pathways so women can move toward financial self-reliance — whether through employment or entrepreneurship.
Financial Literacy & Micro-Savings in Migrant Communities
Financial independence is the cornerstone of true empowerment. Mera Parivar mobilizes women in rural and migrant communities across Gurugram into self-help groups where they learn basic bookkeeping, bank account management, and micro-savings.
- Financial literacy workshops covering digital banking, UPI, and savings accounts
- Formation of neighborhood micro-savings groups supporting emergency credit
- Exploration of micro-enterprise models for sustainable family income
Vocational Garment Training & Self-Reliance
Through our dedicated tailoring hubs ('ngo-Talier'), hundreds of women gain industrial sewing and stitching expertise, turning raw fabric into marketable clothing and earning independent income from home or local garment clusters.
- Comprehensive tailoring certification enabling home-based boutique businesses
- Leadership circles training women to advocate against domestic violence and discrimination
- Creating confident female decision-makers inside local households
