Swabhiman Project

Swabhiman works toward a gender-just, pluralist, and equal society by raising gender-equitable boys. The programme equips adolescent boys aged 13–17 with knowledge, peer support, skills, and leadership abilities — shifting attitudes and behaviours around socio-cultural issues through activities, games, and references from popular culture. It currently runs in three communities across Delhi NCR.

Raising Gender-Equitable Adolescent Boys (13–17)

True gender justice requires engaging boys as allies. The Swabhiman Project is a pioneering behavior-change initiative working with adolescent boys aged 13 to 17 across three communities in Delhi NCR to deconstruct toxic patriarchal norms.

  • Active in 3 urban settlements across Delhi NCR reaching hundreds of teenage boys
  • Safe space peer circles discussing consent, respect, and non-violence
  • Interactive pedagogy using sports, games, drama, and popular culture references
